Freedom Magazine: “Chemically castrated” after antidepressants: the permanent damage of PSSD.
Freedom Mag’s recent article titled“Chemically Castrated” After Antidepressants: The Permanent Damage of PSSD highlights the devastating and often permanent condition known as Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction (PSSD), which can occur after stopping antidepressants. Despite a 2018 petition by health experts urging the FDA to add warning labels, no action has been taken in over six years. PSSD sufferers report severe and lasting symptoms like genital numbness, loss of libido, emotional blunting, and an inability to experience pleasure—conditions often dismissed or misattributed by psychiatrists. The PSSD Network, a nonprofit advocating for research and awareness, continues to fight for recognition and accountability. Tragically, some victims, like Mary Koback, have taken their own lives after being left without answers or support.
